Each year UU congregations celebrate this ritual that came to us from Norbert Capek, the founder of UUism in Czechoslovakia. He wanted to create a ritual for UU’s. The inspiration came from walking in the countryside and seeing the beauty of the wildflowers. Each wildflower represented the beauty and diversity of those in his congregation. So each year, we bring a flower to the service and add it to the flowers of others. Beauty creating community. And we leave by taking a flower from the arrangement to take home with us reminding us of our own beauty and our connection to the community.
