Caterpillars (Nursery-Preschool)caterpillar2

(Warm and loving care for our very little ones and Celebrating Me and My World for our preschoolers. This curriculum teaches our children to celebrate their own personal gifts and talents. From a place of feeling special and worthy, the curriculum asks our children to expand their new sense of appreciation to people and things around them)

Last Sunday: We learned that we had two beautiful hands, hands that can help, hands that can spread love.
This Sunday: We learn about the power of our feet to take us where we need to go. Our feet allow us to explore all of the wonder and beauty in the world.
Next Sunday: I Can Move, On the path of self-awareness, we learn that our hands and feet allow us to move in a very special and unique way. How do we lovingly, gently, and enthusiastically move through the world?

  • Child Dedication will be held Oct. 16 during the service. Please visit the new Soulful Exploration welcome table in the lobby before service to sign up or email Rev. Jamil at dll@wuuc.org. You are never too old to be dedicated!

(In Spirit Jam! our youth will alternate Sundays between experiential and embodied learning based workshops and children’s worship services led by Rev. Jamil)

Last Sunday: Beginnings Chapel & the story of Noah
This Sunday: Beginnings and the Beauty of movement. This Sunday is our Yoga and Game Jam Sunday. Separated by age, we will play get to know you games to start the year out right and have some time to explore Beginnings with yoga taught by Betsy MacWhinney. Parents make sure your children dress in comfortable clothes for yoga, no skirts or dresses. 
Next SundayWe will celebrate Rosh Hashanah in our Rosh Hashanah Chapel with Rev. Jamil and talk about how the new year is celebrated in Judaism.

  • Please try to come to the parent orientation this Sunday, 11:45-12:45 in P2. We have a new program and want to make sure you know all of the details so that your children can get the most out of Soulful Exploration.

  • If your child would like to be a Jr. Worship associate, please sign up at the Soulful Information Table Sunday Morning. Jr. Worship associate training will be held October 9th, in Rev. Lois’ office before service at 9am.

(Building Bridges is a world religions program to deepen youth’s understanding of the dynamic, fascinating, and varied world in which they live. It seeks to broaden their knowledge of humanity and embolden their spiritual search.)

(This year our youth will be focusing on project-based social justice learning. They will choose a project around either environmental justice, racial justice, lgbt equality, or some other topic. Together they will formulate a project and work together to learn about each issue while practically engaging the topic though project based learning.)

I am so excited to see everyone who can attend the movie night this coming Friday! We are going to be watching Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Goss-Grubbs household. David and Cora have graciously extended the invitation for us to come out and watch the movie on their outdoor big screen.
Please note that the movie is R rated and let us know if you have any objections or concerns about watching it.
