This is the second edition of “Notes for Earth,” from  WUUC’s Climate Justice Ministry.  “Notes 4 Earth” briefly offers a specific change you could undertake that would make at least a small contribution to reducing global warming.   We are also looking for contributions to Notes 4 Earth, so if you have come across a good idea or you already are using an effective technique, please send it along to John Hilke via johnh@juustwa.org.

Switch away from beef and lamb:  Raising, processing, transporting, and refrigerating beef and lamb releases far more Green House gasses than many other protein sources, including poultry and vegetable protein sources.  It is said that a picture (graph) is worth a thousand words, so here’s the graph.  (In case you too were wondering about “pulses”: Pulses are part of the food grain family known as legumes.  Pulses include foods such as chickpeas, peas, lentils, beans and peanuts.)
