From the WUUC Worship Team
The November theme for worship, RE, and small groups at WUUC is: What Does It Mean to be a People of Attention? Our monthly themes and resource materials come from Soul Matters Sharing Circle, a network of Unitarian Universalist congregations. See the link to this month’s materials at the bottom of this article.
With so much activity competing for our attention in this numbingly busy month, how do we focus on what really matters to us? How do we even prioritize what does matter?
• Stop.
• Breathe.
• Breathe again.
• And breathe yet again.
• Listen.
• Release your grip on every fleeting detail; let all flow through your Attention without grabbing hold of any of it.
• Sit with the flow of Life rampaging around you for five minutes.
• Now reach out and let the thing which needs your attention be in your grasp.

To Turn Our Attention
Rev. Scott Tayler

We gather to turn our attention
to that which is true,
to redirect our affections
toward that which will sustain our tired and tender hearts,
to look out beyond the narrowness of what is,
so that we begin to perceive, together, what is possible,
and asking to be born.
