I’m Bert Gulhaugen and I’m helping to put together this year’s Music Festival. The last one was 2 years ago.

What’s exciting about this time around it that it’s open to ANYONE in a PNW UU Congregation not just choir members. Please read below to learn more.

We are extremely excited to host Melanie DeMore who will share her musical gifts with us during our music festival, March 23 – 24.

She was a favorite clinician at the National Association of Unitarian Universalist Music Ministries (formerly UUMN) Conference in Portland last summer. More information about Melanie: http://www.melaniedemore.com/

Melanie will lead a workshop during which she will teach us songs by rote on Saturday, March 23 in Chapman Hall 8109 224 St SW 98026 (Edmonds UU Congregation) from approximately 10:30 to 3:30 PM.

  • We will also learn one choral arrangement: “God is All There Is” by Mary Watkins. To purchase the PDF Version for Soloist and Choir ($1.75 per copy), contact Mary at marymusic99@aol.com

We will present our “Community Sing” concert at the United Methodist Church in Edmonds, 828 Caspers St., 3:00 – 4:00 pm (call is 1:30 pm).

  • To offset workshop/concert fees, travel accommodations, and venue rental etc. we are asking for $30. per singer.

All UU’s are welcome to join in even if they don’t sing in a choir. Melanie will also be teaching songs to the audience as part our “Community Sing” concert.

To help our cash flow, please send checks to Bertram Gulhaugen, 2428 SW Holden St unit B, Seattle, 98106. If it’s more convenient to pay using your credit or debit card please do so on Brown Paper Tickets: https://pnwuumf.brownpapertickets.com .

Time is of the essence so please let your choir and congregation know ASAP.

  • Please note that my address has changed: ingoodvoice@live.com
  • My WSUU.org address is not active since I’m no longer involved with Westside UU. If you send emails there I won’t get them.

Special thanks to Wil Sederholm (Edmonds UU) for arranging this year’s festival.
