Three of our youth are traveling to Transylvania with other youth from the states to meet up with youth in Transylvanian Unitarian Churches. They will travel, learn, work and worship together. This service they bring back their impressions of Unitarianism from the place where it all started: Transylvania.
WUUC has not been able to keep its “Black Lives Matter” signs from being stolen. Why do these signs upset someone(s) so much that they need to remove them and leave angry anonymous notes? Where is the Black Lives Movement today and where are Unitarian Universalists in relation to our first principle?
Liberals are often dismissed for being too politically correct, especially when it comes to language. When and how is language harmful to groups of disenfranchised people? Should we change the words of hymns and readings to keep pace with cultural contexts? Language is both power and powerful. How shall we speak?
