My name is Silvia. I retired from gainful employment in the Healthcare field shortly after leaving my marriage several years ago. Divorce felt devastating. After regaining some sense of “normalcy,” I began volunteer work co-facilitating a support group for women in Domestic Violence situations. The focus was on “self-empowerment” which actually helped my own healing process. However, I never accomplished practicing enough …

Church Involvement as a Spiritual Practice, 10/10
– Reverend Dan Lillie When it comes to our involvement in the church, what if instead of approaching our team, task force, and committee work as a task-oriented process of getting things done, and instead understood church meetings as an opportunity to grow our spirits and deepen our bonds? Drawing wisdom from the book, Serving with Grace by Erik Walker Wikstrom, let’s consider a reframe for how we engage in church.

Activism as Spiritual Practice, 10/17
– Reverend Dan Lillie Unitarian Universalists tend to care very much about social justice, but the struggle against injustice, oppression and marginalization can easily overwhelm us if we don’t have a solid spiritual grounding from which to engage in this kind of work. Let’s explore how spiritual practices (and a spiritual community) support our ability to do activism and justice work sustainably for the long haul.
