Successful June 2026 Pop-Up Blood Drive
Submitted by Dewey Millar – coordinator of Blood Drives at WUUC
Below are the results from the June Blood Drive WUUC hosted – it had a great turnout of donors. Those last 2 days always have a bit of a drop off but we still got a lot of faces in the door.
Thank you for your efforts in supporting the Woodinville Unitarian Universalist Church Blood Drive and helping to boost local blood supplies for our community. We hope this experience was rewarding for you and made it easy to participate. Registration numbers are below!
Monday 6/15: 31 registered donors, 25 units collected, 3 first time donors
Tuesday 6/16: 23registered donors, 19 units collected
Wednesday 6/17: 15 registered donors, 12 units collected
The culture of giving that you are creating is fantastic – THANK YOU! One of the main reasons people don’t donate blood is because they haven’t been asked, so together, we are changing that. Your donations will help patients all throughout the Pacific Northwest, like this recent recipient: “Our daughter underwent a spinal fusion surgery and needed a transfusion post-surgery. Thanks to you she’s doing much better! We appreciate your effort in donating. It makes a difference!”.
We couldn’t fulfill our mission without people like you – thank you for taking the time to participate.
Thanks for continuing to get the word out and recruit those donors!!

7/5 – Practicing Citizenship – UU Perspectives on America’s 250th Anniversary
By Jan Radoslovich and Defend Democracy Group
As America celebrates 250 years since the proclamation of the Declaration of Independence, we have the unique opportunity to reflect on what it means to practice “citizenship” while rooted in our UU values and principles. America has a Bill of Rights to protect us from government interference. But should we also consider a Bill of Obligations – what citizens owe one another and our country to allow our democracy to endure and deliver what it can and should to its citizens?.

7/12 – Don’t Try to Change the World: A Case for Small Ministries (Take 2)
Unitarian Universalists are deeply committed to the vision of a more just and loving world. But what often gets in the way, is our own lofty expectations. If we focus too much on the big things beyond our ability to change, we set ourselves up for disappointment and burnout. But if we focus our efforts to be in closer proximity to us, we have a greater chance at making an impact.
