WUUC monthly Family Night in the sanctuary.

We are getting ready for the next one on Saturday, July 22 at 4:00-7:00 pm in the church sanctuary. If you think you and your kids might be interested in coming, please put your names and ages on the sign up sheet. This way I’ll know how much food we’ll need and how many tables to set up (planning food for a 6 year old and a 16 year old is very different). If you have any dietary restrictions, you can put them on the sheet. The sign up sheet is sent out via the announce list before the event and will be posted below when we have it. Amy Robertson, Katherine Kelley, Kate Smith, and Tevina Flood have been hosts for past Family Nights. We’ll have kid-friendly food (including dessert) and fun activities.

Sign Up Sheet: (posted  first to announce email list and then will be here)

Images are from previous Family Nights that were a blast! Games, trains and scavenger hunts … and of course wonderful food brought some of our WUUC families together for an evening of fun.

We’ll provide dinner and activities for kids of all ages. I know we’ll have some teenagers and elementary school age kids attending, so it would be a great chance to have the youth meet each other for fun and games. While the kids are engaged, it’ll be a great time for the adults in their lives to hang out together too.

The idea is to provide a community social event that is family friendly in ways that Circle Suppers normally aren’t.  We want to offer a time and place where the youngest members of our community can relax and get to know each other, while the adults in their lives do the same.  No one has to worry about company manners or juice spilling on the carpet or knickknacks being upended.  Adults can relax knowing that anything can be mopped off of concrete and that there are another 79 plates in the church cupboard that weren’t wedding presents.  Plus, if we have enough attendees, the adults can tag team and play zone defense – they might actually win for a while.

Even if you are not currently responsible for small humans (or can’t borrow one for the evening), you’re still a member of a family, so you’re welcome to attend.  I think those who are bringing small/smaller humans would like to get to know you even if you aren’t bringing one yourself.
