Our Presenters:
Raschelle Holland is an accomplished 25 year educator recognized with the National Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching Mathematics, National Congressional Teacher Scholar, National Christa McAuliffe Fellowship Award, United States Senate Innovative Teacher Award, and the Washington State Christa McAuliffe Teaching Award. She has taught several years of 4th – 6th grades and special education mathematics at the elementary and middle school levels. Currently, she works as a math specialist and a K-6 instructional math coach in a high poverty (90%) elementary school in Spokane, Washington. She writes an educational blog: Ignite! Wayne Au, Ph.D. is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Educational Studies, University of Washington Bothell, and Chair of the Campus Diversity Council. He also is Editor of: Rethinking Schools (www.rethinkingschools.org) Dr. Au’s academic interests broadly encompass critical education theory and teaching for social justice. More specifically his research focuses on educational equity, high-stakes testing, curriculum theory, educational policy studies and social studies education.
