Book Discussion: Justice on Earth [p1b]
May 7, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, repeating until May 21, 2019
If you are exploring your faith in context with justice issues intersecting with racial oppression in the face of climate change and wanting to make a difference, our book discussion group will explore positive and effective approaches to meet these challenges.
Wendy Condrat will offer five sessions on Tuesdays through May 21.
The Title is “JUSTICE ON EARTH: People of Faith Working at the Intersections of Race, Class, and the Environment”
William F.Schulz, former UUA President and former Amnesty International executive director, praises the work of 14 UU Ministers and lay leaders saying, “This Book is long overdue. Many Unitarian Universalists have long considered themselves environmentalists. Many have, deservedly or not, thought of themselves as anti-racists. But rarely have those twin passions met and never has their intersection been so skillfully illuminated within a Unitarian Universalist Faith context as in these essays. In my imagination the Earth will pour forth its gratitude.”
Each chapter deals with a separate topic about environmental justice, so there’s no need to participate in all of them. Just jump in!
