Imbolc [s]
January 29, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The earth-based ministry team invites you to a celebration of Imbolc, the Sabbat marking the transition from Winter to Spring. Imbolc celebrates the return of the of the God in his form as the Sun King and honors the Goddess in her form as Brigid (Celtic deity of the hearth, poetry, smiths, midwifery, wells, and divination) as she transitions from crone to maiden. Come learn about Pagan ritual, celebrate the turning of the Wheel of the Year, and enjoy good company, lively conversation, and yummy snacks.
We will gather at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29 and begin with a discussion of Pagan beliefs and the significance and flow of the afternoon’s ritual. When the group is ready, the earth-based ministry team will lead a circle marking the Sabbat. Once the circle is opened, there will be treats and time for discussion. We have the sanctuary until 5 p.m., but expect to open the circle around 3:30 for those who are not able to stay for the full event.
We are also looking for two more people to participate in the circle as quarter callers. If you would like more information or to volunteer, please contact Rachel Eddy, reddy@wuuc.org.
