On Sunday, April 14, the WUUC sanctuary begins its transformation into an amazing emporium featuring a huge collection of weird and wonderful stuff (your stuff!) – culminating in our giant sale on April 19-20. This event not only makes us a lot of money, but it’s loads of fun. Lots of volunteers needed throughout the week: training provided.

So, starting April 14, bring us your stuff.  Here are some suggestions:

clothing, shoes, bedding/towels/linens, clothing accessories:  hats, mittens, scarves, ties, socks, purses, wallets, backpacks, bags, belts, jewelry, cd’s/dvd’s, electrical items, toys/games, kitchen items, knick-knacks, sporting goods, books, holiday decorations, craft items/supplies

Anything which doesn’t sell will be taken to Value Village who pays us for our leftovers.  Take note of the following from VV:

We currently are running a promotion on soft goods.  You’ll receive $.25/lb. for bags full of household textiles.  Soft goods are things like clothes, shoes, accessories (belts, purses, bags, jewelry), blankets, sheets, towels, table cloths, curtains, fabric – also cushions, pillows and small rugs.

So, soft goods will be a good money maker for us.

Note – here are things which Value Village will not accept, so best if you don’t bring them – but if you do and they don’t sell, you’ll need to take them back so that we don’t have to spend money taking them to the dump:

mattresses, baby gear (strollers, car seats), large appliances, auto parts, building materials, cleaning products, tires, flammable items, large furniture.

One more thing not to bring – CRT televisions and CRT computer monitors.  These need to go for electronics recycling.  There is an electronics recycling event happening on Wed. April 17th at Trilogy on Redmond Ridge – in the Cascade Club parking lot from 10am to 1pm.
