You’re invited to participate in a Structured Dialogue offered by R&R after the service on August 4^th!

A Structured Dialogue is a particular way of talking with each other to increase understanding across differences. R&R recently engaged in a training program with a group called Essential Partners to learn this procedure. (Essential Partners is a nationally recognized organization that developed the Structured Dialogue many years ago. You can check out their website whatisessential.org).

The UU General Assembly that just ended resulted in a decision about Article II of the Association’s by-laws that has been controversial among us. Some of us supported the new version, some of us opposed it and others thought it wasn’t very important to WUUC. R&R hopes that a Structured Dialogue will bring us to a better understanding about what experiences led us to our opinion and what importance it has for us.

The decision has been made, so we’re not debating the merits. Too many times, a decision like this results in hard feelings about winning or losing, about “whose side” came out ahead, etc. We want to promote a better understanding of the experiences behind our opinions and the feelings and values that have resulted. Come join us for a “safe enough” conversation about it!

So here are the basics: Date: Sunday, August 4^th. Time: 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided. There’s no special preparation, but you do need to sign up ahead. We can include up to 20 people in this session. If more are interested, we’ll try to arrange another session.
