More:
Tai Chi Basics: We gently exercise up our bodies and minds with a series of activities that emphasize basic skills, movements and positions. This class makes use of a variety of fun images that should be useful to beginners as well as more advanced students. We mount our surfboards (in our imagination!), hug a tree, walk amidst furry friends, shovel snow, and more. We relate these images and movements to parts of the Yang Family Long Form. You can join us for these sessions as an easy path to learning tai chi or use them to enrich your Long Form learning. Open to all.
Yang Family Long Form: The Yang style 103 form is practiced while standing and moving in slow motion. Once learned, it can be performed as a moving meditation that lasts 22 to 25 minutes. The long form is gentle on the body and on the mind, while building strength, flexibility, and resilience in both. Both of our Long Form classes are currently reviewing Section One.
Section One performed by Nancy Lucero
