Three of our senior youth and their advisor—Paige Marler, Kylie Hartman, Kensi Hartman, and Ashley Lacy—invite everyone to attend a traditional Hungarian-inspired dinner to support their upcoming pilgrimage to Transylvania, an area in Romania where ethnic Hungarians make up about 20% of the population. In Romania, they will attend an International Youth Camp made up of Unitarians from North America and Romania. The trip will also include a pilgrimage around historically significant Unitarian Universalist sites and a service project that will support the Unitarian community there. Donations to this fundraiser will go directly toward the service project.
In addition to a buffet-style dinner, there will be programming that includes a presentation about the youths’ trip and about religious, cultural and political history of the region. Rev. Lois Van Leer and Rosemary Lowden will share photos and stories from their past trips to Transylvania.
DO YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH HUNGARIAN CUISINE? If so, we’d love your guidance and contributions toward food for this event. Your help could include recipes, assistance with prepping the meals, and/or bringing a dish for the dinner buffet. If you can help, please contact Ashley Lacy at ashley.lacy@gmail.com.
We hope to see you!
Sincerely,
Paige Marler, Kylie Hartman & Kensi Hartman, Senior Youth
Ashley Lacy, Senior Youth Group Advisor
