How to Report Sexual Misconduct Within the Congregation (safe@wuuc.org)
The Safer Congregation Response Team (SCRT) is in place to respond to reports/allegations that an adult, child or youth has been the subject of sexual abuse, inappropriate behavior, or misconduct that creates a safety concern within the congregation. If you feel your safety or the safety of others has been compromised in this way, we’re here for you and encourage you to contact us.
If you feel a crime has been committed, we also recommend you immediately contact 9-1-1 or visit an emergency room.
A report can be made directly to the SCRT members via a confidential e-mail (safe@wuuc.org) that includes your contact information and, if comfortable, a brief description of your concern. Alternatively you can contact any individual member of the SCRT – phone numbers are available through the church office and directory. Additional resources for reporting allegations of misconduct are Board of Trustees members, the minister, or a Lay Pastoral Associate. Please contact one of these people if you are concerned about making your report to any of the members listed below.
The Safer Congregation Response Team members are:
- Lane Owsley
- Cora Goss-Grubbs
- Kerrie Vespaziani
- Jan Radoslovich
- Dan Lillie (in an advisory role)
- Katie Faraco-Hadlock, Director of Children, Youth and Families Program (called upon in the event that the complaint involves a child or youth)
